      Get Involved | Make a Difference   Hello ,   This Valentine's Day, instead of just expressing your love to your friends and family, why not spread joy to your community as well? The Volunteer Center has several upcoming opportunities for you to plug in and give back. Here are a few needs I think you would be interested in:   ·      United Way will host the first mass food distribution of 2021 on Saturday, February 20. Scroll down to learn more!   ·      ARCH's ShareHouse is in need of help to sort, clean up and store donations, build move in kits, and assist with basic organization.  Our Order of Service consists of a Google Slides template that generally includes items such as prelude, welcome screen, title screen, opening, chalice lighting, joys and concerns, readings from the common bowl, reading, hymn, responsive reading, special song, meditation, sermon, announcements, calendar, chalice extinguishing, closing song, and benediction. Update (Monday, Feb 8): We have completed the cards with attached lollypops, and will be dropping them off at United Way on Pinhook Rd. for distribution to folks experiencing homelessness on Tuesday, Feb 9 around noon. More photos: Please join us in partnering with United Way and ARCH in making/ writing Valentine's cards to brighten the day of Lafayette folks experiencing homelessness this February. We will be taking donations until Thursday February 11th !! **Let us know if you need a pickup. Our goal is about 200 cards that will be delivered to people experiencing homelessness staying in hotels receiving packings from United Way !  If you swing by Dollar Tree they have some with treats inside that you can personalize with a note like: From: "Your Name" To" "A Great Person" etc. or get the kiddos involved and make them more personalized!!
