DEADLINE FOR DEMOCRACY rally

 Protest For Democracy Sat July 10th @ 11 am 1601 Pinhook Rd. at the corner of Pinhook and LaRue France where Senators Cassidy and Kennedy have their Lafayette Offices. -- add to the Weekly newsletter From: Indivisible Acadiana  "Ok FOLKS, LET'S DO THIS!   Blue Acadiana, with help from members of Indivisible, has scheduled a PROTEST FOR DEMOCRACY on Saturday, July 10th @ 11am, at the "Senate Corner"- 1601 Pinhook Rd, the corner of Pinhook and LaRue France, where Senators Cassidy and Kennedy have their Lafayette offices.   Our protest entitled "DEADLINE FOR DEMOCRACY" is to show Congress that we support Voting Rights, Free & Fair Elections, and Campaign Finance Reform.  We demand that they pass S1, the For the People Act.  Democracy is for All, not just a few!  Join us!  Mark your calendars!  Make your signs!  Dress up if you feel like it. This will be a fun event, and at the same time, it will bring awareness to Lafayette citizens as they drive by.   Ge

National call-in day in support of H.R. 1, For the People Act The UUA and UU the Vote have joined the Declaration For American Democracy for a national call-in day in support of H.R. 1, For the People Act on Tuesday, Feb 23. We expect a vote in the House in the next few weeks, and it's important that we continue to drive calls to representatives and thank members who are co-sponsoring HR1. What You Can Do: 1) Make the call! (Number and talking points below) 2) Share with friends and ask them to call, too! . Request for Pride Day Resolution (campaign)

 Our guest speaker for the Sunday, June 20th service will be Matt Humphrey with PFLAG. In support of their effort to have the Lafayette City Council pass a Pride Month Resolution, we are requesting that our members consider emailing the city council a message in support of this effort and/or volunteer to speak during the public comments segment of the next City Council meeting.
