National call-in day in support of H.R. 1, For the People Act

The UUA and UU the Vote have joined the Declaration For American Democracy for a national call-in day in support of H.R. 1, For the People Act on Tuesday, Feb 23. We expect a vote in the House in the next few weeks, and it's important that we continue to drive calls to representatives and thank members who are co-sponsoring HR1.

What You Can Do:

1) Make the call! (Number and talking points below)

2) Share with friends and ask them to call, too!

Take Action

Call Your Members of Congress: 1-888-246-5947 and ask them to support H.R.1:

  • The American people are tired of a government that serves only the wealthy and corporate interests. We've seen how our democracy and the power of the American people have continued to diminish each and every day.
  • If Americans are ever going to see progress on the policy issues we care about, we must have a democracy that responds to the needs and priorities of voters – not wealthy donors and corporate interests.
  • In order to fix and strengthen our Democracy, Congress must pass the For the People Act.
  • If passed, the For the People Act would get big money out of politics, restore voting rights and offer new protections for voters, end gerrymandering so that electoral districts are fairly drawn, and hold government officials accountable with new ethics standards.

Call your Representative today to urge them support the For the People Act as a first order of business in the new Congress, and to thank them if they've supported the bill in the past.

Call 1-888-246-5947 to get connected to your U.S. House Representative.
