Board Training Sessions

The Nominating Committee is offering a brief board leadership series over the next several weeks until our upcoming board election. It will take place Sunday mornings, from 10:00 to 10:30 AM.  Topics include: Mission, Board Roles, Congregational Covenant, Leadership Development, Ministry, Congregational Governance, and Conflict Resolution.  These sessions are open to everyone!

Possible yoga class

Would the fellowship  have interest in Jarrod Roy leading a yoga class at the building?  His price would be $10 per person. We could choose the day and time. Or do you have someone else in mind? I don't know if we have yoga practitioners in the congregation. Contact Diane Kirksey or a member of the board if you are interested. As for myself I am unable to pay $10 per person and would like to work out some other arrangement with him or someone else for free or by-donation yoga or other movement/body practice.

No War Webinar on Thursday, February 13th

We will be showing the webinar at the Church at 12 noon. From our Calendar: Webinar at UULALA Church re. what we can do to help stop our militarism mindset. In January, tensions between the U.S. and Iran hit a fever pitch.  The Trump administration assassinated an Iranian general, leading to retaliatory strikes on a U.S. military base. In response, many Americans took to the streets, condemning U.S. aggression and calling for "No War with Iran!" While we seem to have avoided a war for now, the strikes led many Americans to wonder- how does the U.S. keep taking military actions without Congressional approval, and how do we stop these endless wars? As we continue to call for #NoWarWithIran, join us as we delve into what happened between the U.S. and Iran in January, why congressional War Powers are important, and what you can do to help us end these endless wars!
