Monthly Theme:  PRAYER AND MEDITATION

PRAYER
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU?
Please join us this Sunday morning as Fellowship Services Committee Chairman, Morris Hoagland, introduces our August theme:  prayer and meditation.  Morris will explore what prayer means to each of us.

As Unitarian Universalists, prayer can sometimes remind us of former religious affiliations and doctrines that are no longer at the forefront of our spiritual lives.  But UU congregations hold space for prayer of all description as we seek our own spiritual truth.
F. Morris Hoagland, P.E. is a past President of the Board for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Lafayettie, current chairperson of the UULALA Services Committee and member of the Board of Rock Creek R&D, a spiritual enlightenment organization. He is a frequent presenter of service topics for the Fellowship. Morris has studied spiritual traditions from around the world over his 40-year professional career. He brings a broad perspective to our dialog. He is an eternal optimist that sees the Creator in everything around us.

UULALA 2nd Thursday Movie Night August 8
UULALA Movie Night for the 2nd Thursday of August, August 8, will be the 2012 comedy/drama "Frances Ha."
This story follows a New York woman, who doesn't really have an apartment. She apprentices for a dance company although she's not really a dancer, and throws herself headlong into her dreams.  One bit of trivia important to us:the lead actress in the movie, Greta Gerwig, was raised as a UU. In the Fall 2013 issue, UU World published an interview with her: "Greta Gerwig, UU film star"

Meet for snacks and fellowship on Thursday at 7:00; movie starts at 7:30. We gather at the home of Ann and Mike
, 110 Seville Blvd, Lafayette, LA 70503. If you have questions call Mike at 337-852-3668,
