UULALA Weekly News for October 13-20, 2019
UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST FELLOWSHIP OF LAFAYETTE
WEEKLY NEWS FOR OCTOBER 13-20, 2019
Hello fellow UU's!
Last Sunday, October 13ths service was led by Scott Ferguson and the sermon title was "We Drink from Wells That We Did Not Dig". Morris Hoagland had selected this excellent sermon but was unable to attend.
The Order of Service containing the sermon can be viewed here
Orders were taken for new T-shirts by Emily Carline and Linda Hoagland brought a few leftover T-shirts with the old logo to be given out for free or for a donation.
From our FB page:
"We have moved! Our new address is 1119 Johnston St., building 12, between Gypsy Market and Domino’s Pizza"
"We had a great inaugural service yesterday at our new location at 1119 Johnston Street! Scott Ferguson gave an inspiring sermon entitled "We Drink from Wells We Did Not Dig," highlighting the importance of both community service and having faith in one another.
We are grateful to all who acted on this concept by helping with the move to our new building.
Please join us next Sunday for our weekly service: coffee and community from 10:30 to 11 and service at 11. All are welcome!"

Our speakers:
Next Sunday, October 20th's Service will be led by Mary Guirard, with guest speaker Elaine Clement delivering the presentation "Working Toward Liberation - A True Democracy".
Although our country is touted as the model for democracy, the United States is actually a capitalist country and not a democracy. A just world cannot exist where money is more important than human beings, nature and the planet Earth. This interactive talk will look at community building and how we start to create the world we want to live in.
Elaine Clement is proud to be Cajun and Francophone. She spent 16 years building an international network of Francophones and Francophiles at CODOFIL and currently runs Tourism and the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville. She leads Cajun and Francophone Liberation and has been a certified Peer Counseling teacher for 25 years. "I grew up across the street from the swamps in Morgan City, and I just adore, Louisiana, its people and environment. It's become my life work to liberate my mind and work toward the ending of racism and other oppressions and the destruction our planet, while dancing!"
Please join us for coffee and fellowship!
