"War Is Not The Answer" Peaceful Assembly (follow up)

Woody Martin and Vic Hummert are holding a "War is Not the Answer" peaceful assembly at Putnam Park across from the Federal Courthouse on Lafayette Street on Friday January 17th from 4 to 5 pm. Please do not park in the Courthouse parking lot. There are plenty of parking spaces at the Library and un-metered parking spots along Lafayette Street. Please join us and show your solidarity for peace for our citizens and the citizens of other countries. Wear your UULALA t-shirt!

Follow-up, Saturday, January 18th

About a nine folks attended the assembly. I found out that they have been hosting this event off-and-on since the Iraq War. Woody and Vic are two of the founders and some of their allies have passed on, but the struggle continues with new allies and friends! Chaplain Hummert (retired) will giving the sermon on January 19th. He is an activist for the environment and against nuclear weapons. He served as Chaplain for the Lafayette Parish Jail and is a member of the Sierra Club.
