February donations drive for MTM

The UU LaLa board has established a matching donation program for Move the Mindset https://movethemindset.org. We are in partnership with MTM in their efforts to move the Jim Crow Confederate statue in front of the old Lafayette city hall on Jefferson St., and in their project to bring Equal Justice Initiative https://museumandmemorial.eji.org memorials to the Lafayette area.
MTM President Fred Prejean has spoken to the fellowship several times, yet we have never donated. The board will match donations from the congregation up to $250.00 for the month of February, which is Black History Month. Please see Bruce Snow or any board member to donate or donate via PayPal by using the link on uulala.org. Please indicate that your donation is for Move the Mindset. Thank you.

Our persistent, non-violent insistence reminds those in power that their authority has limits.  They are accountable to ALL the citizens, not just the privileged few.A great city does not hide its true history.  It corrects its flaws.  Lafayette has a lot of work to do.
