This is a cordial reminder to join Professor Bruce Thursday, February 20th, 6pm, at the downtown Lafayette Public Library for an animated evening of South Louisiana History mixed with local community dialogue. Please join in the conversation.

"By Any Means Necessary: Africans, Acadians, and the 1858 Murder of Constant Melançon, Sugar Planter, by Toussaint, His Slave and Childhood Friend." Professor Bruce takes a look at relations between Acadians and Africans in Louisiana through the prism of a tragic incident that occurred just prior to the Civil War.
