Finish the Fight: The Story Behind the Story As part of its examination of the 19th Amendment centennial, The New York Times is publishing a new book, called Finish the Fight!: The Brave and Revolutionary Women Who Fought for the Right to Vote. Written by Times journalists, the book explores diverse women who fought for suffrage, but have been less recognized for their work. The Times also asked playwright Ming Peiffer and director Whitney White to adapt some of the book's biographies into a new form of theatrical storytelling, with invented scenes and imagined conversations among five women. The events of their lives, and their accomplishments, are real. Finish the Fight is historical theater meant to remind what powerhouses the women of the suffrage movement truly were. Be there for the premiere of this innovative new performance, and learn why their fight is far from over. R.S.V.P. for details. | |
