IWC's 2023 International Women's Day resource packet provides resources for Unitarian and Unitarian Universalist (U*U) congregations to plan a worship service that honors March 8, International Women's Day or Mother's Day in May - and supports IWC in its mission to empower women and girls worldwide: - Sermon topics, words for chalice lighting and extinguishing, prayers, readings, and benedictions contributed by U*U women worldwide
- Additional resources on the UN theme for Int'l Women's Day 2023
The United Nations theme for International Women's Day, March 8, 2023 is "DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality." The theme celebrates women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education and explores the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities. The event will also spotlight the importance of protecting the rights of women and girls in digital spaces and addressing online and ICT-facilitated gender-based violence. We ask U*U congregations to consider dedicating a Sunday offering to the vital work of IWC. A shared offering would be a valuable contribution toward IWC's efforts of making a positive impact in the lives of women and girls worldwide. Please let us know if your congregation is planning to honor International Women's Day or Mother's Day with a worship service and/or a shared offering. Join us as we work to increase awareness of the digital gender divide and push for inclusive and transformative technology for all! Thank you for your involvement and support! | |
